We provide high-quality, nutritious eggs to wholesale customers across the U.S.A.
We’re egg people.
That’s what you’ll hear first. “We’re egg people.” Many of us have grown up in this business. “I started out when I was just a kid, helping my Mom and Dad with their little chicken farm, growing flocks of birds for sale,” says Charlie, a pullet manager in Missouri. “Once I grew up, I found my way here to Opal and I plan to be here until I retire. It’s a good job in a business that I’m proud to be part of.”
We’re bird people.
We take care of a lot of birds. “We raise them from chicks and move them from their protective cages when they’re as little as two weeks old so they have space to walk, run and grow,” Charlie says. “When you’re in the barns with the birds every day, you develop a real sense of care for them. Every one of them.” We work hard every day to ensure that our farms and production sites are clean, safe, and sustainable — to protect our birds and to ensure the quality of the eggs that we ship to stores.
We’re community people.
We’re farmers and industrial workers who represent the heartland of America — and we are deeply committed to the communities that we’re part of. “We support the Future Farmers of America in all our communities,” says Amanda, a plant lead in Iowa. “We support local youth and adult sports teams. And, of course, we supply our local food pantries. Our neighbors appreciate the jobs we provide and the way we run our operations. We keep everything clean, safe and sustainable — for ourselves, our birds and our communities.”
We’re family.
“We all know each other,” says Jody, a feed mill supervisor in Missouri, “and we’re here for each other. I have three operators who help me in the mill and five drivers who transport the feed. There are different challenges every day, no two days are quite the same, and every day goes by fast, but we help each other however we can because we respect each other and expect to be working together for a long time.”
